Make your Arashi trip to Japan

I've decided to share my "Arashi's pelegrinage" (there's no other word XDDDD) maps and information, because, yes, I'm planning my trip to Japan LIKE CRAZY! Because I don't want to lose a single second when I'm there, So I've planned pretty much everything I really wanted to do . Take apart the "going to Arashi's concert", there's also a hell lot of set location I want to go, because it will feel awesome to say "They were there" or "Geez, I feel I'm in a drama XDDDD" (and it's a fun way to visit Tokyo anyway, as I'll take opportunity to visit around at the same time of course, so why not do two things at once *saving time and money \o/*)

So I started one month and a half ago, and it was really reaaaaaaaaally fun. Google Earth is loooooooove!!!
This post is mainly for me to keep track of things when i'm in Japan (even if I'm going to print every maps), but as it was a lot of work, and I know some people are going to Japan this summer (some in only few days, ne anthalie9? X3), I thought it might be of some interest to them.
And anyway, maybe you'll go to Japan next year, or in two years for Arashi's 10th year celebration... or in 25 years, as a commemoration, when all of Sho's my kids would have graduated from Keio and when Nino will finally start looking 25 years old XD~ And you'll be like "Oooooh my youuuuuth, Japan, Arashi!!!! My youuuuuuth"

...hum I'm getting lost...

Anyway, the following includes detailed Google maps of "How to go here and there", with many references, maps themselves are detailed, just click the big blue things and a big bubble will appear with pictures (of the said place when I could find one and screenshots of the movie/drama), informations and links (maybe some random comment XDDD), and most often, it also includes the location of the nearest train/subway Station (with a Wikipedia link (Japanese, or English when there is one), mostly useful because it lists all the lines going through that station).
As a help to go to the said train station, you'll definitely need to use this awesome site (just enter your departure station (romanji), and the one you want to go to, and it will give you different ways to get there, according to your budget and time *yeah planning like crazy*)

Example:

(don't freak out because you're seeing French, the screencap was made while I was logged in on Google Maps, and of course i've set it to French, but when you'll use the links, you'll get in English (or whatever the language you've set it to if you're logged in)

All those maps where done according to this absolutely great Japanese website, other where done according to careful watching of the movies/drama (mainly for all the locations of Pikanchi and some of Kisarazu Cat's Eye) (I must say that was greatly fun XDDDD), with the great help of Wikipedia List of railway stations in Japan *lifesaver*

Of course, all of the below are a few selection of many many other set locations. Some are not even in Tokyo, and I will only stick there (only exception for Kisarazu Cat's Eye of course XD~), so I had to choose where I really wanted to go.

Oh it also includes non-set locations, but interesting places Arashi fans will want to go definitely (like Aiba's mum restaurant X3 )

And even if you're not going to Japan right now, it's tremendously fun to watch the location on Google Earth (or maybe am I the only one to think that XD), and I remember at one point I stupidly thought "OMG, that place is REAL!" XDDDD That's dumb but that's the feeling you get X3)

Pikanchi, life is hard dakedo happy

Yashio Complex
Where the five of them live. Now I say A BIG THANK YOU to the 3D display of Yashio Complex at the beginning of the movie XDDDD

Harajuku
last edited on July 17th
That was the MOST FUN to do, because it was only me, Google Map, and a lot of "Pause" hiting on my iPod while watching the movie (because movie player + Google Earth = My PC dies). Lots of help came from those blue stairs you can see here and there, I located myself with them. Couldn't find where the hell Takuma was challenged to skateboard thought, even if I looked around...

Additional notes:
From amlovesyou: I'm half-sure Takuma was skating near the Omotesando part of Harajuku St. ;) Although if there is a skate park around Harajuku, and where it is, I'm not too sure about.

Thank to that, I think I found where Takuma was, still haven't found where this bloody skatepark is thought ><

Hana yori Dango

Ebisu Garden Place
This is the MUST-GO of course :3 (I think I went a little too much screencap crazy on this one >///<)

Narita Airport scenes
Except if you choose to go to Japan by boat... you will most likely arrive and leave at Narita Airport, so you will definitely have a chance to visit those sets (as for me, I'm going to stalk them when I leave Japan because at my arrival, I will be busier trying to be quick and catch a train/bus with all my stuff to go to the hotel (because Nartia Airport is 1 hour and a half away from Tokyo), well except if I immediately recognize the places.)
Of course the map won't help that much (because you will just see the roof of the airport XDDDD), but you'll have the terminals numbers and pictures.

Ueno zoo
anthalie9 told me they're still selling that ugly plushie Tsukasa bought for Tsukushi (and it's damn expensive. Of course, because it's a hit now!)
Includes the meeting point at the Saigo Statue (which is in Ueno park) and the zoo (some place of the zoo I could find (like the pinguins because I could see the water on the map) but some obviously I could not, because of trees and the such. Anyway it won't be hard to find the toilets once you're there XDDDD).

I wanted to see the Domyoji house, but it's not in Tokyo, it's not even near Tokyo, so... *sob*

Kisarazu Cat's Eye

I will go to Kisarazu the same day as going to Aiba's mum restaurant in Chiba, to take advantage of the train, and do the most I can in one day with the less money I can X3 So that day, it will be Tokyo>Chiba>Kisarazu \o/

Kisarazu
I choose the locations nearest to the Station, because I'll be by walk. The only thing I don't know if I'll be able to do is going to the sea-side, where Master shop is, because it's 3km away from the nearest station (which is not even Kisarazu station, but the one before: Iwane Station). I think I'll stop at this station and ask if there is a bus to the shore, I think there must be one, how does the people leaving there do @_x (after translation Iwane StationWikipedia page, it appears there is a bus to the different seashores \o/) I'm crazy enough to walk 3km to get there (it's not like I'm not used to it, I walk 1 hour and half everyday for my work), but I don't think Jennifer (the friend with whom I'm goign to Japan) will be willing to walk >< Anyway, we'll see once there.

Tokyo: Rainbow Bridge (Obaida Island)
I wanted to go to that place anyway (it's really famous, full of tourists XD you know it's the artificial island on Tokyo Bay where there is that replica of the Statue of Liberty), and when I saw it was in KCE... \oooooooooooo/

Yamada Taro Monogatari
last edited on August 13th
I want to go there so badly T0T

Taro's part time job
This set is always not that far from the Yashio Complex (Pikanchi), just not on the same line, so I think I'll go there the same day *still the idea to save time and money XDDD~*

Taro's house district
I think I've FINALLY found it, because they gave the set location of the big green slope, and the house is definitely close by so, I think this is it (houses around, cars in front, everything matches), I don't know if the house we see on the satelitte view is Tarou's house, it was built back in April, and maybe the Google view is older, anyway, the suroundings looks like it's here.

Atago Shrine
Where Mimura-kun and Yamada-kun are training for the super market price \o/

Tarou's dad is drawing and Takako's confession on the bridge
Those 2 places are right next to each other. It will be a nice park to spend time in anyway ^^

Haikei, Chichiue-sama

Around the restaurant, in Shinjuku-ku
I made DRASTIC changes. I've found out some of the locations on the maps provided by the site where wrong (it was the right district but not quite there in detail (when I searched for a bridge, it showed me the street 100m away...) So the restaurant was not at that exact place, I'm not EXACTLY sure where it is, but I found out the Shrine where Ippei met Tokyo, and the restaurant is really close to it (you can see in episode 1 Ippei going from the restaurant to that shrine). So I've delocated the restaurant, anyway, if you'll go there, just look around and you'll find it. As for "the stairs of apple love" they must be right beind the restaurant, as it's described in the drama.
i've also added the bridge where Ippei is seriously thinking that London is in France X3

Bambino

Baccanale Restaurant
I haven't finished watching Bambino yet (oooh the shame!) so I just picked the most important: Baccanale restaurant ^0^

Nobuta wo Produce

Red Bridge
I just choose that set because it was near Baccanale (Bambino) restaurant XDDDD

Aiba's mum restaurant

Keikarou Restaurant
GNAHAHAHAHAHHAA I CAN'T WAIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!
Map made using those resources (anyway, just type "桂花楼" in Google Map and it will find it immediately XD~):
*faithez post
*Fruitzzin @ Naver (geez, there's even Shoronpo XDDDDD)
*Chillipaprika @ Vox
*Keikarou restaurant Official Website

Map includes the departure from Akihabara in Tokyo.

Johnny's Shop in Harajuku

Where your wallet will DIE
My money... MY MONEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! *happily broke, I will be*
Map made using those resources:
*Fybabe's scan
*Johnny's official website

The shop in Harajuku is opened from 10AM to 7PM. And anthalie9 said "You should NEVER go there on weekends, because this is absolutely crowded!" XDDD Ok will get there first thing in the morning on weekdays (even if... as it's the hollydays, weekdays or week-end won't make much of a difference...)

Additional notes:
From mutant_cucumber: I'm gonna warn you, though, the Johnny's store is crowded even on weekdays. XD; We had to wait two hours just to get in. x_x

From heixin: Just something to note, because it's the summer holidays now, there are going to be a lot of people at the Harajuku JE shop. Even though the shop only opens at 10, there's a huge crowd there by 8.30am. You'd probably want to be at the shop about 8 to ensure you're in the first batch to go in. ^^; Plus, you can't wait outside the shop, there's a waiting area about 30m outside, next to a train station exit. That's where all of us have to wait.

From melsenpai: I've passed by the J-shop in Harajyuku. hmmm...i was wondering what those girls were waiting in line for. there was a line all the way up until the shop closed. amazing.

... OK I'LL BE THERE AROUND 7:45AM \oooooooooooo/

And if you've watched all the maps carefully, well you noticed it's right in the middle of Pikanchi set locations, so I'll get there at the same time (anyway... I think I'm going to spend A LOT of my days in Harajuku so....)

Keio University
last edited on July 27th
I'm so biased that I'm going to take a look at it XDDDDDD

Keio University

Yes I'm seriously going to take pictures like crazy XDDDD Ah and a good point of all this work was that I feel like I know Tokyo like my pocket @_x (even if it's NOT the case XDDDD), I'm familiar with all the districts and train stations, that really stressed me down considerably! Because I know that when I'll get there, I won't freack out and will know where I'm going (a little "xxx wa doko desu ka???" will get me there anyway XD~) I even worked on my Kanjis because everything on Google Map plans are in Japanese (that was mainly to find "WHAT THE HELL IS THE NAME OF THAT TRAIN STATION!?" XD~)

Oh yeah, and I'll add again, I'm in Tokyo from August 21st until September 5th, so if anybody wants to hang out with me and go to those set locations, you're very welcome ^0^

Warning: This post is subject to change, because obviously, I'm still planning on my travel, and I might add some locations, anyway, I think people will find use in this post when they will go to Japan (which I hope will happen to everyone ^0^)

Uwaaaahh, if only I could go XD But I will! Someday, somehow... *daydreams* And when that day comes... I'll def remember this post! XD Oh and yea I'm that kind of person too... the whole "they were here!!" heheh XP

Stupid me, last time I went to NY (probably as close as I could get to them), I started planning things the night before >_< and all I could find was Kino and Asahiya. I wanted to visit the places in HYD2!!!

I only got to Times Square cuz it was the only obvious one. Been there a bunch of times anyway =.= But this time I had a moment of silence... "Tsukushi was here" hahah XP.

I wanted to go to that hotdog place!! Researches after the trip and I found out that it's nowhere near Central Park DX What I couldn't find was Domyouji's school!! Hmph, well at least it's only NY so there's always next time ;P

While Japan though... aaahhh~ I'd definitely need this kind of planning too ;) So many places to visit!! Oh and you're not alone, I haven't finished Bambino either 8P Stuck on eps 7, no space to DL the rest T_T
10th-Jul-2007 01:54 pm (UTC)
I hope you'll make your dream come true! Look at me, one year ago, even thinkins about going to Japan had a flavor of "impossible", and I'm leaving in one month and a half ^0^
So you can do it!

I think some set locations in NY were post to hanayoridango (around the week of the release of the first episode, so search the January month), even Tsukasa school, maybe you should search the archives. Next time you could check ^^

And I'm stuck in Bambino because I'm lazy, that's all XDDDDDDD
10th-Jul-2007 01:17 am (UTC)
very well researched!! there's a possibility I may go next year, so I'm gonna bookmark and favorite this post so I can refer back to it! *-*
10th-Jul-2007 01:54 pm (UTC)
Oooh I hope it will be of some use to you, and hope you can go to Japan ^^
10th-Jul-2007 01:29 am (UTC)
OMG, that is totally, completely awesome!! I'm going in 3 weeks (to see Arashi, of course!) and will try to scout out some of these. I've always wanted to know where some of these locations where since they seems so obvious to locals. Now I have this as a resource (And I love the little pop-ups, since you even inlcuded screen caps! XD)
10th-Jul-2007 01:56 pm (UTC)
3 WEEKS AAAARG!!! Luckyyyyy!!!! *is getting crazy over the waiting*

I hope you'll have fun checking those sets then \o/

(thanks, I love watching the screencaps in the popups XD~)

10th-Jul-2007 02:00 pm (UTC)
Don't give up, i'm sure you can make your dream come true. One year ago, going to Japan sounded impossible to me, and here I am, leaving soon ^0^

10th-Jul-2007 02:10 pm (UTC)
OMG! You... you were in Ebisu last week T0T *wants to be there so baaaaaaaaadly*

Definitely try Aiba's mum restaurant, every report I've read was really elogious about it ^^
10th-Jul-2007 03:00 am (UTC)
Have a good time! It's really fun to explore Japan this way. I spent 2 weeks there having fangirl fun in June. XD

Just something to note, because it's the summer holidays now, there are going to be a lot of people at the Harajuku JE shop. Ahh...just typing this, I feel the excitement again!
10th-Jul-2007 02:11 pm (UTC)
Fangirls vacations are the best XDDDDDDDD

Thank you so much for the tip, I've edited my post with it, hope you don't mind ^^; (with proper credit of course)
Oooh I so want to be there already T0T
10th-Jul-2007 03:10 am (UTC)
oh god *dies* i didnt know the stairs are so far from the restaurant (nino's haikei)

but... where's the shrine??
10th-Jul-2007 02:19 pm (UTC)
The Shrine were Ippei met Tokyo? (and the one where is talking with the daughter of Okami-san Jr (don't remember the name, sorry XDDD))?

Here is the page @ loca.ash.jp
*checking the map*
Eeeeh? It's really close to the restaurant! (like, next to it!)
Oooh must add it to my trip, thanks for asking XD~

Eeeeh, there's a lot of stuff around, like the cafe on the water... I'M GOING TO TAKE A CLOSER LOOK ON HAIKEI'S LOCATIONS XDDDDDDD
10th-Jul-2007 04:19 am (UTC)
Thank you soooo much for this!!! I've been looking around for something like this since I'm in Japan right now XDD
I'm adding this to memories XDD Thank you!!! ♥♥

10th-Jul-2007 02:24 pm (UTC)
Arigatou *0*

As for now, I don't any question to mind, as I've read so much books and guides about Japan, that pretty much answered all the questions I could have. But if you're living in japan and are going to those locations, I would love some feedback, especially if some places are hard to find etc.. ^^
10th-Jul-2007 07:59 am (UTC)
Oh wow, this is a huge help!;D I'm doing my own planning with Google Maps, so this will save me some timeXDD Thanks a lot for sharing, and I will be in Tokyo from the 25th to Sept. 1st, it would be great to meet up:)
10th-Jul-2007 02:27 pm (UTC)
I want to marry GoogleMap <3

Oooh let's do that, let's do that!!!

As for my book days, 25 and/or 26, I'll be going to A-Nation to see Ayumi Hamasaki (among others), and on the 30th, I'll be in Hamamatsu for Arashi concert, so any other day is fine with me ^^

I'll leave you my mail anyway, because this will be the best only way to contact me in Japan: winkywebmistress [@] gmail.com
10th-Jul-2007 08:17 am (UTC)

I hope you'll have fun in Japan!
10th-Jul-2007 08:19 am (UTC)
I didn't start to search all the places! Thank you so much! I have to print and save your post! Otsukaresama deshita! :3
google maps is in kanji.. it seems hard to find the places, thank you T___T
10th-Jul-2007 02:33 pm (UTC)
Aaah Tenjo-chan, I'm so happy this can help you and make you save some time ^^

The trick with the kanji station was that I searched using my Japan guide with the map of Tokyo and all the station are written in romanji on it of course. Then on google Map, I just zoomed out a lot to see where the station was approximatively (it's easy to locate places in Tokyoon Google Maps, because you've got the big Tokyo Bay and lots of gardens to help, you know where you're going), then zoomed in progressively and matched it with my Japan guide. Then I checked on Wikipedia if the Kanji and romanji were matching ^^ (and when you've done that on many afternoons, you'll start remembering the main kanji (especially Shinagawa, as they were kanjis I knew), and which district is where. So I became faster and faster at it ^^ )
10th-Jul-2007 09:19 am (UTC)
awesome. thanks for the info. been planning my own trip to japan too, so this may prove to be very useful. thanks!
10th-Jul-2007 02:34 pm (UTC)

Oh, will you be updating your blog during your japan trip? If so, mind if I friend you? I love travel blogs <3
10th-Jul-2007 08:36 pm (UTC)
I will surely be updating my blog while I'm in Japan, I don't know ho often, I think there is internet access in the hotel I'll be in (and anyway, there are tons of Cyber/Manga Cafe in Japan), I don't know how often, it will depend on time and such, but I will DEFINITELY update the day after Arashi's concert XDDDD

Anyway I've planned a big gigantisc post once I return home (because I will keep a daily journal with me to remember that wonderful travel)

Of course you can friend me, I've just added you back ^^
